Grant
and Miller honoured in Week Five National
Lacrosse League Awards

The National Lacrosse League announced the
Week number five player awards for the 2007
season. Rochester Knighthawks forward John
Grant earned Overall Player of the Week
and Offensive Player of the Week and Chicago
Shamrox goaltender Brandon Miller earned
Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Rochester
Knighthawks forward John Grant (Peterborough
Lakers, MSL) earned Overall Player of the
Week and Offensive Player of the Week honors
for his performance in the Knighthawks 22-18
win over the New York Titans on Saturday.
Grant set a single game league record, scoring
15 points in the contest. Grant scored nine
goals and assisted on six others for the
15 points and scored two of his goals on
the power play. He also collected seven
loose balls as the Knighthawks improved
to 4-2 with the win.
Chicago
Shamrox goaltender Brandon Miller (Brampton
Excelsiors, MSL) was named the Defensive
Player of the Week for Week #5. Miller recorded
41 saves and allowed just ten goals as the
Shamrox held on to beat the San Jose Stealth
11-10 on Friday. Miller also tallied two
assists and collected four loose balls as
Chicago improved to 3-1 with the win.
