Barrie holds on for 13-12 victory over KW, advances to semi-finals

August 1 , 2006 - The Barrie Lakeshores clinched their MSL quarter-final series 3-1 Tuesday night as they held on for a 13-12 victory over the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks in Game Four of the best of five series. Barrie now advances to the MSL semi-finals and will take on the second place Peterborough Lakers.

Barrie led 13-8 with just under four minutes remaining before the home team Kodiaks would answer with the final four goals of the contest only to come up one goal short to end their first season in the MSL.

Leading the Barrie offense was Mark Steenhuis who added a season high six points with two goals and four assists. Chad Culp added two goals and three assists while Brandon Sanderson (2G, 2A) and Matt Holman (3G, 1A) chipped in with four points each in the victory.
